- 'Juba' - Modern day 'Rite of Spring' is a
ritualistic and ethnic dance
- Aggressive, syncopated accents
- Black survival - similar to
many of Ailey's concepts
- 'Love Stories' was a collaborate piece between
Battle, Jamison and hip-hop pioneer Rennie Harris
- A combination of
hip-hop and
modern dance
- Very random movement in second section... almost
like a dance off & they seem to be doing normal
everyday things, but in dance form. Represents the present - Harris
- First section is very fluid and
contemporary. Male dancer with very
strong technique seems in despair at
points. Represents the past - Jamison
- The third section is far more
ethnic, and the song choice
emulates this. The hip-hop
becomes more true to Ailey
style. Represents the future - Battle
