The Life Cycle of Stars
- 1). Stars form from clouds of gas and
dust called NEBULAS
- 2). The force of GRAVITY pulls
the dust together, and then the
gravitational energy is converted
into heat energy
- 3). When it is HOT enough
hydrogen nuclei join together
to make helium nuclei (ALOT
of energy is given out)
- 4). A MAIN SEQUENCE STAR is
formed in a stable period of
pressure
- 5). The hydrogen in the core eventually runs out, it
then swells into a RED GIANT
- 6). The star then becomes unstable and throws out its outer layer of dust and gas
- 7). A hot, dense solid core - A WHITE DWARF,
which cools down and then fades
