RELATIVE CLAUSES

WHAT IT IS
1. Relative clauses are used to define what person or what we are talking about they serve to give additional information, or simply to complete an idea that is not well understood in a sentence.
Related pronouns can be distinguished in WHO: that refers to people. WHAT: Refers to things or animals. WHOSE:indicates possession or link. THAT: refers to things, animals or people

  2. WHOSE: Do you know the boy whose mother is a nurse? ¿conoces al niño cuya mama es una enfermera?
  3. THAT: I don't like the table that stands in the kitchen. no me gusta la mesa que se encuentra en la cocina
we distinguish relative adverbs in
1. WHEN: to refer to time. WHERE:to refer to places or sites. WHY: to refers to reasons, motives or causes
