  1. equidistant from two points
    1. a ship sails along equidistant from two lighthouses a and b
      1. what is the locus of the ship?
        1. a straight line!
          1. this line is at right angles to the line ab
            1. it is called the perpendicular bisector
    2. equidistant from a point
      1. a golfer hits a ball 2 meters away from a hole.
        1. if every place he could hit the ball is marked what shape does it make?
          1. CIRCLE!
        2. the locus of points equidistant from a fixed point is a circle.
        3. equidistant from two lines
          1. a golfer hits a ball and to be a perfect shot it has to land so it is the same distance between two lines
            1. to do this it is a straight line.
              1. this line is called the angle bisector
          2. loous of a square
            1. do points 1cm away from the perimeter
              1. the outside locus is curved around the corners.
                1. the inside locus is another square
