Music magazine ideas

Music Genres - The music genres I have chosen to use for my music magazine are Indie/Indie rock, Alternative, rock/soft rock
1. I have chosen these genres of music as these are my preffered genres of music.
2. I chose to have multiple genres for my magazine as this gives a wider target audience and a larger range of musics and artist.
Target Audience - The target audience for my magazine are those who are interest and like the genres of music
1. The target audience age groups for my music magaizne ar btween 15-30
Music interest - looking into what other elements f the music/music magazine industry that the target audience of my magazine might also be interested in.
1. Selling points - Looking at other products such as CDs , posters , give-aways and competitions.
2. Competition - The magazines that would be seen as rivals to miy magazine would be magazines such as Q, NME, MOJO and KERRANG! As these magazines mostly feature the genres of music i have chosen.
3. Other music industry - There are other alternatives to buying magazines to find new music, companies such as Apple Itunes, Spotify and other music downlaod sites like these. The target audience may be interested in sites such as these. Promotions or code for these sites could boost buyers.
4. Artists and Genres - the typical artist and genres my target audience would listen to would be; Artist - Vampire Weekend, Paramore, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles. Genres - Indie, Rock ,Soft rock .Alternative
5. The style of my magazine is that it focuses on the music rather than the celebrity image. As my target audience are llok for more serious mussic comentary.
Msic Magazine ideas - I Looked at all the key elements of my music magazine and expanded on each point and came up with a nrange of ideas for each point.
1. Masthead - when deciding what my mast head could be I came up with a varitey of possible names: Such as INDiE RoCK, INDiGO, HighTOP, REBELS, THE JAM.
  1. I chose the mast head 'INDiGO' , I then used dafont.com to look at a range of font style I could possibly use for my mast head
2. Key Image - For my key image on the front cover I came up with a range of ideas: Such as A New Girl Band - Two girl group, also a different option would to be a solo artist either male or female.The key image will be of two girl group - I have chosen to have a two group girl band called 'THE BIRDS' for my key image and feature article of my magazine.
3. Key Cover Line - For the key cover line on my magazine , I came up with a couple of possible ideas that would best anchor my key image. Such as 'FRESH, FLY AND NOT TOO MAINSTREAM', 'FLYING HIGH' , 'NOT FLYING SOUTH FOR WINTER' , ''THE BIRDS ARE BACK' AND FLYING HIGH' .When choosing my key cover line I had two stories for the main article that i was considering and this will effect what my key cover line will be: the two cover lines I am considering are 'THE BIRDS ARE BACK AND FLYING HIGH' and 'FRESH, FLY AND NOT TOO MAINSTREAM'.
4. Colour scheme - When thinking about my colour scheme I wanted to stick to conventions and go with typical back and white as the base and then add 1 or 2 other colours such as blue, red , yellow or orange, this gives the magazine extra colour and brightens the magazine up and looks more appealing.
5. Double page spread - When dieciding on a story for my feature article I came up with two main ideas: Story 1 : A brand new girl band emerging with thier debut single and 'INDiGO' magazine has the first ever interview with the band. Story 2 : The girl band 'THE BIRDS' are back with their second album, and on why this album took so long to make.
