- but neither bright red nor

- painless
- fresh
- sufficient to cause drop in haemoglobin
- intussusception
- volvulus around a band
- diverticulitis
- mimics appendicitis
- clinically indistinguishable
- so is perforation of MD
- Ix
- Technetium scan
Anmerkungen:
- 99m-Tc- pertechnetate isotope scan
- shows increased uptake by ectopic gastric mucosa in 70% of cases
- Rx
- surgical resection
- laparotomy
- indications: persistent or recurrent bleeding
- even if Tc scan is -ve
- a cause of
- GI bleeding
- obstruction
- inflammation
- umbilical discharge
