Chapter One - Plot Summary

1) Nick returned to the Midwest & is writing a book about past evens which happened when he was on the East Coast of USA
2) He starts his narration with a self-analysis, trying to pin down important aspects of his character
3) He remembers his dads advice to show tolerance towards others and to reserve judgement
