1.1 Index Laws

a^m x a^n = a^m+n a^m / a^n = a^m-n (a^m)^n = a^mn (ab)^n = a^nb^n

1.2 Expanding Brackets

(x + 5)(4x - 2y + 3) = x(4x - 2y + 3) + 5(4x - 2y + 3) = (4x^2 - 2xy + 3x) + (20x - 10y + 15)
