Aim: To observe and record one's recovery rate by plotting he change of heartbeats over 10 minutes following exercise.

Hypothesis:
It was expected that when exercising your heart rate would go up because there is more demand on your body do your heart will need to pump blood all around the body faster.

Materials:
- A person with a beating heart
- A stopwatch
- Graph paper or spreadsheet.

Method:

After 5 minutes sitting quietly. take your pulse by counting your pulse for 15 seconds then multiplying that by 4. Record this on your piece of paper as your Resting Heart Rate in Bpm. (Beats per minute)

Do 3 minutes of continuous exercise, then immediately take your pulse same way as before then record on your piece of paper.

After 3 min of exercise start resting continue recording your Bpm measurements for 10 minutes until you reach your Resting Heart Rate.

Results:

Resting heart rate is: 64 bpm

Exercises:
- Sprints
- Star Jumps

Exercise (bpm)
1 min of exercise: 200 bpm
2 mins of exercise: 180 bpm
3 mins of exercise: 200 bpm

Recovery (bpm)
1 min of recovery: 140 bpm
2 min of recovery: 96 bpm
3min of recovery: 68 bpm

Total recovery time: 3 minutes

Discussion:
It was found from the data that it took Maddy only 3 minutes to get back to her resting heart rate and that your
heart rate will go down once you have stopped exercising.

Questions:

What does the term Stroke volume refer to?
Is the amount of blood pumped out of the heart per beat so your don't have to work as hard.

If a person took longer than 10 minutes to reach their resting heart rate- What can you infer about the person and why?
From this you can infer that they are unfit or unable to recover from exercise as fast as someone how can lower there bpm
back to its resting heart rate.

How does someone work out their maximum bpm?
220 - age = Maximum bpm

Why does heart rate increase during exercise?
It needs to pump blood fast though the body when its working hard.

Conclusion:
Some failures in this track would be the time wasn't recorded accurately therefore this messed up the results,
the rate of recovery of the person being tested on showed us they genuinely were fit and had a good recovery rate. To improve this
prac it would be good to show more time keeping skills to stay on task.
