Frage Antworten
Describe the structure of a box and whisker plot? Q1 and Q3 are the boxes. The boxes extend from there sections max to min values. The centre where the boxes meet is the median. The shape of the graph can be found from the size of the boxes.
How do you find out which points are outliers? 1.5 X IQR
How do you find an extreme outlier First find the lower limit which is Q1-1.5 X IQR. then find the upper limit which is Q3+1.5 X IQR. any numbers less then the first calculation or greater then the second are extreme outliers.
What is Z-score? It is a measure of relative position and tells you have many standard deviations a number is below or above the median
How do you calculate z-score? The raw score-mean/standard deviation. For population it's x-u/sigma and for sample it's x-x|/s
Does z-score have units? No it's a pure number
