  • Shakespeare left his family and went to London where he became a full time writer. After he became famous he had to write poetry for the living.
  • Shakeaspeare is known for his sonnets. During the Plague in England, the theathers were closed and he needed to make money for the living. He wrote a lot of sonnets in order to gain the patronage of Henry Wriothesley , third Earl of Southampton who was a rich men. There are some rumors that some of his poems were for him.
  • Even though it´s so hard to organize Shakespeares' plays. Most people have divided them in three categories: Tragedies, Comedies and Histories. Some of them were influenced by Shakespeare competitivity over other authors in his age, such as Fletcher, Christopher Marlowe, Nashe, etc. Others were references to real people as is the case of Macbeth. It could be said that the true power of his plays remained in the way they were presented because they were too hard to categorize. One curious thing in Shakespeare plays was the frequent themes that were repeated, including themes relating to classic comedies, tragedies and familiar relationships, particulatly between fathers and sons which is the most repeated.
