Evaluation Question 6: What have youlearnt about technologies from theprocess of constructing this product?We used the Canon Powershot SX260camera to film our horror film openingsequence.Our options were to use my camera(the Canon Powershot), or one of theschool's handheld video cameras.We chose to use my camera as wethought it would be more reliable, and Iwas experienced with using it so I knewhow it worked.The camera was really simpleto use and produced somegreat quality recordings.To add the music and sound effects to our filmopening, we used the Apple softwareGarageband.I had some experience with usingGarageband, but had never used it to createa soundtrack for a video clip.I found Garageband simple to use andit was easy to find the cinematicsounds we needed.Using this software enabled us to usesound effects that we otherwise wouldnot have access to, and saved usfrom having to spend time searchingthe internet for the perfect music andeffects.We used Final Cut Pro and iMovie to edit our film openingsequence.We were originally planning on justusing iMovie, as Ellie had easyaccess to it on her laptop.However, we were then introduced to Final CutPro, a more complex programme that gave usmore editing options for our film opening.Final Cut Pro was difficult to use at first,but once we got used to it we found itmuch more beneficial than iMovie wouldhave been.We used iMovie to trim somevideo clips that we needed touse in our film opening, so itwas useful for this aspect ofediting our work,When researching audiences for our film opening, Iwanted to create a survey in order to find out whatpeople looked for in a film opening.I used the website Surveynuts to create mysurvey. It was easy to use and not overly timeconsuming, which was good. It also enabled meto easily see my results.I used Prezi to present some of myresearch work. I had used Prezimany times before, so it was easyfor me to use this website.I used Blogger to post my research and planningupdates online.
