Question Answer
What does Rate Of Reaction depend on? 1) Temperature 2) Concentration (Or pressure in gases) 3) Catalyst 4) Surface Area Of Solids (Or size of solid pieces.)
What are the 3 different ways to measure the Rate Of Reaction? 1) Precipitation 2) Change in mass (Usually gas has been given off) 3) The Volume of gas given off.
What increases the amount of collisions? 1) Higher Temperature 2) Higher Concentration 3) Larger Surface Area
Define Catalyst A catalyst is a substance which speeds up a reaction, without being changed or used up in the reaction.
What is an Exothermic reaction? A reaction which transfers energy to the surroundings, usually in the form of heat and usually shown by a rise in temperature.
What is an Endothermic Reaction? An Endothermic Reaction takes energy in from the surroundings, usually in the form of heat and can be shown by a drop in temperature.
