Prophase- Chromosomes become visible ( DNA coils up) and nuclear envelope disintegrates
Metaphase- Spindle forms and chromosomes line up randomly on equator of cell
IMPORTANCE OF MITOSIS
Growth- mitosis ensures that the genetic information from 2 haploid gametes which fuse together at fertilisation to form a diploid zygote is the same and the new organism resembles its parents
