Ride-sharing apps help drivers and riders connect. Some are free, like Hitch-a-Ride. Others are pay services, like Lyft and Uber. Car-sharing companies like Zipcar let you use a car for a few hours. These services are great for travelers who don't have their cars with them or for people who don't want to buy a car. Many cities, such as Shanghai, Mexico City, and Paris, also offer bike-sharing programs. It's cheap, easy and fun!

There are even meal sharing apps now! Sites like EatWith help local cooks share food with tourists in their homes. It's definitely more interesting than a restaurant!
