The people managed the hardships in the industrial revolution using a few methods. Firstly was the cooperative and movement. This was brought out by a group called the " Pioneers" in 1854. They set up shops to sell items that were normally too . Eventually this business grew rapidly, and made workers seen as the instead of a threat to social stability. Secondly, there was a movement known as the movement. The Chartists demanded the government pass a new , and actively fought for better for the workers. Thirdly, there were trade unions. These unions were set up but were largely unsuccessful at first. But in 1851, the (ASE) was set up. Instead of a radical approach, they took a more approach and tried to negotiate with employers.
