Pregunta Respuesta
What is the equation, unit and symbol for Momentum? Momentum= Mass x Velocity p=mv Momentum - p kgms^-1
Newton's first law of motion: An object remains at rest or in uniform motion unless acted on by a force.
Newton's second law of motion: The rate of change of momentum of an object is proportional to the resultant force on it. Resultant force is proportional to the change of momentum per second.
What is the equation that describes Newton's second law of motion? F∝ change of momentum/(time taken) mv - mu / t m(v - u)/ t = ma Including F=ma
What is the impulse of a force? The impulse of a force acting on an object is equal to the change of momentum of the object. the impulse = F∆t = ∆(mv) Force x time force is active
What equation could you use to calculate impact force? F= mv - mu / t (A re-arrangement of impulse).
What does the area under a force time graph represent? The change of momentum or the impulse of the force.
