  1. :Limited amount of prisons, offenders at risk of re-offending, at approtirate stage leve, multipler -displinary team (psychologist, prison staff)
    1. Sex Offender Theory

      Nota:

      • groups 8 offenders; 2 tutors/therapist through process involved in offending limits on behaviur offender relapse prevention 20 treatment sessions
      • Offence- support cognition Implicit theories of rapist: 1. women are dangerous -women seek to decieve a man about what they really want 2. women are sex objects- not always consciously aware that they are interested 3.men understand their body language which is more relevant than their voice 4.male sex drive is uncontrollable- once a man gest sexually aroused it is difficult for them to contain it 5.entiltlement- men are more psychologicall mature and sexually sophisticated and women are expected to be subservant 6.dangerous world- world is hostile and threaning place where actors must constantly be on quard against explotian by others
      • Child molesters 1 children are sexual beings 2. nature of harm 3. uncontrollability 4. dangerous world 5. entitlement`

                Nota:

                • Individual vs group treatment -treatment of minismisers &  deniers -not to inlude them b/c clients not motivated treatment, deniers can be disruptive to group 
                • Effectivness of program -varies in programs -possible reasons- lack of needing financial resources - politicial climate, (only in recent years have)- effective treatment been developed

                  Nota:

                  • May have impact of reoffending again -beating therapy -victtim assessment skill -increased triggered salience -increased skills of evading detection
                  • Non-cmpletetion of treatment : -1/4 offenders never offend  Reasons: non-cooperation off offender admistration reasons removal from treatment by staff Non-completetion predicts re-offending
