    1. What is it: In a Parallel Changeover the new system runs simultaneously with the old system for a given period of time.
      1. Advantages
        1. Carries Low Risk
          1. Can be reverted back to the original system
          2. Disadvantages

              1. Time Consuming
            2. Direct Changeover
              1. What is it: In a direct changeover, the entire system is replaced in an instant.
                1. Disadvantages
                  1. Most Risk
                    1. Old system gone as soon as new system is implemented
                    2. Advantages
                      1. Works best where a systems failure will not leave a disaster for the company
                    3. Phased Changeover
                      1. What is it: In a phased changeover, the new system is implemented one stage at a time
