  1. What does RAM stand for?
    1. RAM stands for Random Access Memory.
    2. What does ROM stand for?
      1. ROM stands for Read Only Memory.
      2. What is the purpose of RAM?
        1. RAM is only a short term memory that is in your computer.
          1. The RAM is cleared after turning off your computer.
            1. The less RAM you have, the slower your computer as the computer can't move things around.
              1. Imput data goes into the RAM until the computer is ably to do the process.
                1. It also holds open programs like word
              2. What is the purpose of ROM?
                1. ROM is a memory that can't be changed by a program or user.
                  1. Data that is kept
                    1. A main purpose of ROM is that is stores memory even when turned off.
                      1. For example it stores instructions for the computer to start up.
                    2. What does volatile and non-volatile?
                      1. Volatile keeps data as long as the power stays on.
                        1. Non-Volatile is when data is saved regardless if the power is on or off
                        2. Is RAM and ROM volatile ir non-volatile?
                          1. RAM is volatile
                            1. ROM is non-volatile
                            2. What is stored in RAM?
                              1. Programs that are open and instructions that the computer is waiting to be processed
                              2. What is stored in ROM?
                                1. Most things that computers need to run
                                2. Can you change what is in the RAM?
                                  1. Yes you can change it
                                    1. For example, every time you open something or save something, you change the RAM
                                  2. Can you can change the ROM?
                                    1. You can change the ROM but is recomended not to do it regularly.
