1. Was born on August 26, 1918.
2. She was so intelligent that she skipped kindergarden, 1st grade and 5th grade.
3. She went to west virginia high school and graduated at the age of 14.
  1. she entered high school at the age of 10.
4. Katherin was the only child that attended a special course for advance math wiht analytic geometry.
5. She got a B.S degree for math and french.

  1. Her first job was as a teacher at elementary of schools in virginia and west virginia.

  2. 1953, she was research mathematician at the Langley research Centre .
7. What was she honored for?
  1. She was honored from NASA and given the group achievement Award.
  2. Katherine also was honored by the Doctor of laws from SUNY farmingdale in 1998.
  3. On May 2006, she was honored with an award for doctor of science.
