Resumen del Recurso

Specific Heat Capacity
  1. It tells you how much energy stuff can store
    1. Materials which need to gain lots of energy to warm up also release lots of energy when they cool down
      1. They can 'store' a lot of heat
      2. The measure of how much energy something can store is called specific heat capacity
        1. It is the amount of energy needed to raise the temp of 1kg by 1oc
          1. Water has a specific heat capacity of 4200J/kgoc
        2. E= m x c x 0
          1. E= energy transferred (J)
            1. m= mass (kg)
              1. c= specific heat capacity (J/kgoc)
                1. 0= temp change (oc)
