Lesson 2
Use topic conversation cards cut up to revise and warm up activity - students must try and practice using the new words from the word web
Invite two students to carry out a science investigation in front of the class - place a cut white rose stem into a pot of coloured food dye
All students write a plausible prediction, ask questions and record results on a graphic organiser
Reflect as a group on the science investigation, was it a fair test?

Group discussion to explore new words and build comprehension. Draw a class word web on the board to display new vocabulary
Students draw and label parts of the plant and write a brief statement about the plant about how it gets its food and importance.
In small groups share and talk about their drawings and ideas. Make copy of word web and distribute to students
