Storing data using ICT
1. Advantages
  1. Cheaper
    1. Less money spent on overheads
      1. No filing cabinets
  2. Easier and quicker to transfer and back up data
2. Disadvantages
  1. Training will be needed
    1. Expensive
  2. Transferring data is a security risk
    1. Protection is needed from hackers
Validation and Verification
1. Batch Total
  1. Checks something isn't missing
    1. Adding together a number field in different records and checking totals
      1. Invoice adding 1,2,3 the computer will look for a BATCH of 6
2. Hash
  1. Same as Batch but field checked is meaningless
    1. Company has 3 customers with numbers ending in 2, 3, 4. Computer looks for a hash total of 9
3. Validation
  1. Only sensible data entered
4. Verification
  1. Errors when copied form one medium to another
  2. Double Keying
    1. Data Entered twice
      1. Passwords
  3. Visual Check
    1. Proofreading
      1. Looking over a CV before sending
  4. Parity
    1. Checks that data is correct when sent
      1. Uploading files to a website
