What is the purpose of the disjointed letters (huroof al-muqatta'aat) ?
They prove the miraculous nature of the Qur'an.
To draw the attention of the listener
To show that Qur'an is in Arabic language
No purpose at all as we don't know their meaning.
Qur'an is kalaam (speech) of Allah.
Why is "zaalika" used to point to the Quran?
To show the greatness of the Quran
To point to the actual book which is in the "Lawhul Mahfooz"
Because Quran is Arabic language
Because it is hard to understand
Who will receive guidance from the Qur'an?
All people.
Those who have taqwa.
Whoever reads the Quran.
What is Taqwa?
To take protection from the punishment of Allah by doing what pleases Him and leaving whatever displeases Him.

What are the characteristics of the Muttaqeen?
They believe in the UNSEEN "Al ghayb"
They establish salah
They spend from what Allah has given them
They believe in what was revealed to Prophet (s.a.w) and what was revealed before him
A person can gain Taqwa even if he doesn't establish salah.
What are some of the things included in Al Ghayb ( الْغَيْبُ )
The Prophets.
Angels
Jannah
Hellfire
All of these
Who are the successful ones mentioned in ayah 5.
Those who will attain Jannah
Those who have earned a degree
Those who have wealth and children
