A Trekking Journal
November 12, 2019.
Today 1.(be) the second day of my trek around Mount Annapurna. I am exhausted and my legs 2.(shake) and my toes 3.(bleed) . I just hope I am able to complete the trek. Nepal is a fascinating country, but I have a great deal to learn. Everything 4.(be) so different, and I 5.(try) to adapt to the new way of life here. I 6. (learn) a little bit of the language to make communication easier; unfortunately, I 7.(learn/ not) foreign languages quickly. I 8.(travel, currently) with Liam, a student from Leeds University in England. He 9.(be) a nice guy, but impatient. He 10.(walk, always) ahead of me and 11.(complain) that I am too slow. Right now, Liam 12.(sit) with the owner of the inn. They
13.(discuss) the differences between life in England and life in Nepal. I 14.(know/not) the real name of the owner, but everybody 15.(call, just) him Tam. Tam 16.(try) to teach Liam some words in Nepali. Every time Tam 17.(say) a new word, Liam 18.(try) to repeat it. Unfortunately, Liam seems also to have difficulty learning foreign languages. I just hope we 19.(get/ not) lost and have to ask for directions.
