Unit 4.4 Hearing and Seeing
wot does energy do in order for us to hear to hear a sound, its energy needs to be transmitted through your eardrum and delicate structures of the ears.
wot happens to the sound waves your ears collect sound waves as they enter the outer ear and travel through the ear canal.
wot does the vibration of the sound wave do the vibration of the sound wave strikes the eardrum, causing the eardrum to vibrate.
where does the vibration then move to? this vibration is then passed on to the three bones of the middle ear.
wot does the movement of the bones cause? the movement of the bones of the middle ear set up vibrations in the fluid of the cochlea which is located in the inner ear.
wot happens in the cochlea it is in the cochlea that these vibrations are converted into the electrical impulses that your brain interprets as sound.
wot r some reasons y ppl can have hearing disabilities -the ear canal is blocked with wax -the middle ear is filled with fluid -eardrum has been ruptured by a loud noise - sensory cells of the ear have been damaged coz of loud noise -a defect in the auditory nerve or tiny hairs of cochlea prevents sound being transmitted correctly to brain
