| SWINE FLU | H1N1, H3N2. Avian strain H3N2 is endemic in pigs in china. CS: fever, anorexia, sneeze, cough. Death is rare: 1-4%. The pneumonic areas are clearly demarcated, collapsed, and purplish red. They may be distributed throughout the lungs but tend to be more extensive and confluent ventrally. Nonpneumonic areas are pale and emphysematous. The airways contain a copious mucopurulent exudate, and the bronchial and mediastinal lymph nodes are edematous but rarely congested. |
