Why were the first hospitals made? The first hospitals were made by the Romans to treat soldiers injured in battle. These were very basic because they had to be mobile and follow the Roman army.
Who was Hippocrates and what was his theory? Hippocrates was an ancient Greek physician who devised the 4 humors. He lived from 460-370BC
Who was Galen and what was his theory? Galen was a Roman physician who devised the theory of opposites. He lived from 129-216AD
What is Galen's theory of opposites? Galen's theory of opposites is the idea to cure something you need to do the opposite. So if someone is too hot you treat them with something cold, or too cold you warm them up.
