Indian Removal Act (Trail of Tears) Andrew Jackson signed it and it stated that the Indians/Native Americans had to move to Oklahoma where there was no good soil and it was the Trail of Tears because the Indians were very sad while they were on the trail of moving
Mexican-American War It was a War between Mexico and the United States and we fought over Texas and whoever won the war got to keep Texas
California Gold Rush People found that there was lots of gold in the state of California so people rushed there and mined for gold to get rich
Homestead Act The government was giving away free land in the West for people in the East and lots of people took the offer because they needed more land than they had originally

Kansas-Nebraska Act It was an act where Kansas and Nebraska got the choice to be a free or slave state. Kansas chose to be a free state and Nebraska chose to be a slave state
Dred Scott v. Stanford A slave master brought a slave to a free state Illinois where it was illegal so Dred Scott took his master to court and he lost so he was still a slave
