What does TCP/IP stand for? Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol. used to govern the connection of the computer system and the internet.
What does HTTP mean? Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure. It manages how messages are formatted and transmitted.
What is HTTPS? Hypertext Transfer Protocol Secure. HTTP transmit the HTML pages through to the user to use. It also uses TCP/IP to do its job.
What does POP stand for? Post Office Protocol. This protocol manages the sending of files/ emails but checking for the correct address for the receiver and sender.
What is IMAP? Internet Message Access Protocol. IMAP is a more powerful protocol than POP or SMTP because it allows the user to read the file whilst using TCP
What does SMTP mean? Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. This protocol is responsible for sending and receiving emails and text based files.
What does FTP stand for? It stands for File Transfer Protocol. It is the reason and manages how the computer sends files from one place to another or over the network.
