Limestone Calcium Carbonate
Air Oxygen
C + O2 -> CO2 Highly exothermic. Sustains the temperature inside the furnace.
CO2 + C -> 2CO Produces Carbon Monoxide, whiches acts as a reducing agent
Fe2O3 + 3CO -> 2Fe + 3CO2 Iron Produced
CaCO3 -> CaO + CO2 Limestone thermally decomposes. CaO removes impurities.
SiO2 + CaO -> CaSiO3 Neutralisation. Molten product can be romved easily, waste product.
