Question Answer
How is energy transferred in circuits? From cells and other sources
List two things that convert energy in circuits 1) Cells 2) Generators
When do all resistors produce heat? When a current flows through them
What does a higher current flow mean in a circuit? More heat produced
What does a bigger voltage mean in a circuit? More heating as its pushes more current through
If an appliance is efficient... ... it wastes less energy
What is the solution for an appliance wasting a lot of heat? you can buy appliances that are more energy efficient. They transfer more of their total electrical energy output to useful energy
What is the disadvantage of using more electrically efficient appliances? They cost more
What does the total energy transferred by an appliance depend on? How long the appliance is on and its power rating
What is the power of an appliance? The energy that an appliance uses per second
What is the equation for Energy transferred? Energy transferred= Power rating x time E=Pxt
