Events leading up to Magna Carta

January 1215	John summons a council to London where he refuses to listen to the barons. The barons complain their liberties aren't being recognised, and prepare for war
February 1215	William Marshal and Stephen Langton meet the rebels at Oxford
April 1215	John meets the rebels at Oxford, but no agreement is reached. Rebels then gather troops and march to Northampton-shire. They send non-negotiable demands to John. John refused to make concessions that would limit royal authority.
May 1215	FitzWalter is chosen as rebel leader and they formally renounce their fealty to the King. They attempted to capture Northampton castle but failed. They successfully occupied London.
June 1215	John agreed to Magna Carta
August 1215	Innocent annuls Magna Carta and civil war restarts. John has powerful support from William Marshal and Bishops
