In this lesson i'm going to show you, what a comparative and superlative is, when to use them, and how create them.

  • Check first if the adjective is short or long
  •   Remember! A).1 Sylablle B).Ends in C+V+C
  • Double last consonant

  • Easy - Easier
  • -This house is more expenseive than my house. -Tim is more intelligent than Susan.
  • If you want to say the opposite, then use "less"
  • This house is less expensive than my house.
  • If you want to say that both thins are equal, then use "as" + adjective + "as"
  • Superlatives
  • Check first if the adjective is short or long
  • Short
  • Long
  • Has more than two sylablles
  • The most + Adjective 
  • -This house is the most expensive house in the street. -Brian is the most intelligent  kid in my class
  • The + est at the end of the Adjective 
  •   Remember! A).1 Sylablle B).Ends in C+V+C
  • C).If ends in "y" 
  • Easy - Easiest.
  • Double last consonant
  • -My dad is the oldest person in my family. -Tokyo is the biggest city in the world.
  • One or two sylablles
  • If you want to say the opposite, then use "the least"
  • This house is the least expensive in the street.
  • Now, there is something that you have remember, there are some exeptions, when the adjective is:
  • Good
  • Bad
  • Far
  • Comparative: Better than Superlative: The best
  • Comparative: Worse than Superlative: The worst
  • Comparative: Further than Superlative: The furthest
