Unit 2 Blinklearning 6th grade: Geology
  1. Spheres of the earth
    1. Geosphere:
      1. Is all the continents and all the islands.
      2. Biosphere:
        1. Is all the living things. Like humans and microorganisms
        2. Hydrosphere:
          1. It's form by all water of the planet like oceans, lakes, rivers seas
          2. Atmosphere:
            1. It's form by all gases and ashes that surround the Earth
          3. Layers
            1. Crust
              1. It's made of solid rockIt contains all the ground. Ocean floor, continents, islands...
              2. Mantle
                1. It's made of semi-liquid an liquid magma.
                2. Core
                  1. It's made of liquid and solid iron- It is the centre of all the earth
                    1. It is divide in Outer Core and Inner core
                3. Tectonic Plates
                  1. They are solid parts of the crust than move in the magma of the mantle and can move in different ways
                    1. Towards from or convergent: They get stuck and form a mountain range
                      1. Away from or divergent: They go away.
                        1. They go past or transform.
                      2. Rocks
                        1. Igneous
                          1. Volcanic activity (magma cool)
                            1. Homogeneous (Don't have layers)
                              1. Intrusive (Underground)
                                1. Extrusive (Above)
                              2. Sedimentary
                                1. It's form because sedimentation
                                  1. Porous
                                    1. It has layers and yo can see it
                                    2. Metamorphic
                                      1. It's form by extreme pressure and heat
                                        1. Unporous
                                          1. They often has layers and you can see only in individual minerals
                                        2. Volcanoes
                                          1. They are openings in the Earth crust. Magma of the mantle can go up and erupt. Different parts of a volcano are these:
                                            1. Vent:
                                              1. Is the opening that allows magma to rise up to the surface
                                              2. Magma chamber
                                                1. It's the place where magma accumulate.
                                                2. Magma & Lava
                                                  1. When magma is in the exterior of the volcano, it calls lava they are semi-liquids
                                                3. It has constructive and destructive efects:
                                                  1. Constructive efects: Soil for agriculture
                                                    1. Destructive efects: Hot gases and ashes
                                                  2. Earthquakes
                                                    1. They are a sudden and very strong movement of the ground.
                                                      1. They are caused by a suddenly realise of two layers that are moving past. They get stuck, they try to move and when they make it Earth's ground move strongly
