      1. On the evening of December 3,1894 he collapsed possibly due to a cerebral hemorrhage, and died.
      2. He wrote that he wished his illnesses would kill him.

1. The Land of Nod is a place mentioned in the Book of Genesis of the Hebrew Bible, located "on the east of Eden".
2. It was the place where Cain was exiled after Cain had murdered his brother Abel.
