                              1. Ancient Sumerian writing is called Cuneiform and made using a wedge-shaped stylus. It is based off pictograph writing that they used before cuneiform.
                            3. Explain the importance of religion to ancient Sumerians?
                              1. Ziggurats were temples for the gods. Sumerians thought the gods lived on top of the Ziggurats and that is where they would perform their sacred rituals.
                              2. Who was Hammurabi?
                                1. Hammurabi was the ruler of the Babylonians and he is known for having the first written code-of-laws.
                                2. Who was Nebuchadnezzar? Why is he important?
                                  1. Nebuchadnezzar is important because he was the leader of the Neo-Babylonians and built walls, towers and a moat around his capital city.

                                    1. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were gardens planted in the royal palace.
