they have to fulfil, there set roles are chosen by whether
they can have children or not and if they have a husband

- The women are then forced to wear their colour coded uniform to
represent their roles in the society. The women have lost all their
identity and character from having to wear this uniform. They loose
all rights to express themselves, and how they want to represent
themselves to other people.

- As soon as the handmaids are set into their house to work for their commander they instantly loose their name. Offred, Ofglen and
Ofwarren are all example of how the handmaids loose their names and are then defined by their role and take their commanders
names. As Offred's commander is called Fred she takes up 'Of' as they are assigned to him until her role is fulfilled, and then the
commanders name 'Fred' to show how she is forced to be his handmaid and has no way of changing that.
