      1. Treats: rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, inflammation, pain, headache and fever.
        1. Common side effects: Nausea Upset Stomach
        2. Avoid alcohol and ASA
          1. Monitor: Pain

            2. Opioids
              1. Actions: Binds with receptors in the brain and spinal cord that are associated with pain. operate opioid analgesics are similar to morphine however the pain control is less effective, and potential for respiratory depression is less.
                1. Common side effects: dry mouth stomach pain drowsiness nausea
                  1. Generic & Trade Names: Hydrocodone (Narco) Oxycodone (Percocet) Morphine

                  2. Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) Antidepressents
                    1. Action: SSRIs decrease the reuptake of serotonin at selected nerve terminals in the CNS and increase serotonin activity at the nerve synapse. Increased availability of serotonin at the receptors results in mood elevation and reduced anxiety
                      1. Treats: Major Depression, OCD, and Anxiety
