MODAL VERBS

MAY
1. El verbo may se utiliza para dar un grado de certeza de una accion
  1. Significa: podría, quizás, puede que.
  2. En oraciones afirmativas se utilizaria asi:
    1. We may stay here for the night. Podríamos pasar la noche aqui
    2. You may ask three questions. Puedes hacer tres preguntas.
    3. That may be a good idea. (Esa) Quizá sea una buena idea.
  3. En oraciones negativas su uso seria asi:
    1. Mr. Johnson may not remember anything. Puede que el señor Johnson no recuerde nada.
    2. I may not come next week. Quizá no venga la semana que viene.
    3. You may not leave the classroom without permission. Usted no puede salir del aula sin permiso.
  4. En preguntas su uso seria asi:
    1. May I go to the bathroom? ¿Puedo ir al baño?
    2. May you take this to Mr. Richards? ¿Podrías llevarle esto al señor Richards?
MIGHT
1. Se utiliza cuando expresamos una débil probabilidad o osibilidad.
  1. En oraciones afimativas se utiliza asi:
    1. They might be waiting for us at the station. Podrían estar esperándonos en la estación.
    2. This might be our only chance Esta podría ser nuestra única oportunidad.
    3. Harry might write soon. Harry podría escribir pronto.
  2. En oraciones negativas se utiliza asi:
    1. Sylvia might not live there anymore. Quizás Sylvia ya no viva más ahí.
    2. It might not rain tonight. Puede que no llueva esta noche.
    3. We might not know everything. Puede que no sepamos todo.
  3. En preguntas se utiliza asi:
    1. Might I give you a piece of advice? ¿Podría darte un consejo?
    2. Might we speak to you for a moment? ¿Podríamos hablar contigo un momento?
  4. Significa: Yo podría - podria / Quizas / Que Puede del
