Present Continuous
1. Function
  1. Is a verb tense which is used to show that an ongoing action is happening now, either at the moment of speech or now in a larger sense. The present continuous can also be used to show that an action is going to take place in the near future.
2. Positive Structure
  1. Subject + am/is/are + verb-ing
    1. Example
      1. You are learning English now.
3. Negative Structure
  1. Subject + am/is/are + not + verb-ing
    1. Example
      1. You are not swimming now.
Function
1. To express habits, general truths, repeated actions or unchanging situations, emotions, and wishes.

  1. Example
    1. We play football in the yard.
Negative Structure
1. Subject + do not + Verb
  1. Example
    1. We do not play football in the yard.
