Central Concerns in Tsotsi

1. The central concern of Love
1. Tsoti risks his own life to save the baby, purely because of the love he has for the baby. This heroic act, even though he does not suceed, shows how much the baby means to him, and how much it has changed him as a person because before the baby came around,Tsotsi only cared about himself and would never do anything to help someone that would put him in danger
2. "He had enough time to dive for the corner where the baby was hidden, .. and finally to remember"
3. Even though Tsotsi only had a few seconds left he wanted to die beside the baby, thta had changed him to a person, who if he was able to survive may have stopped commiting crimes and become a nicer person. We as the readers are left to wonder what Tsotsi was remembering, in the last few seconds of his life, maybe it was how much the baby transformed into a better person, this happened through the care and love that he gre for the baby
2. The central concern of justice
1. Even though Tsotsi was starting to become a better person, he couldn't escape the consequences of his actions.
2. "what's a sin?" "Robbing, Stealing and killing" "What happens if you do that?" " The Lord Jesus will punish you
3. because of the system of Apartheid, the police were not able to catch him, but Tsotsi's crimes caught up with him and he got caught by himself. Tsotsi is trying to run away rom what he has done, by leaving the gang and starting to care for other people, but his old life caught up with him and with that the conseqences came with it as well. The only real justice Tsotsi and everyone around him could get would be through the death of him.
