The Battle of Agincourt was a large and famous battle fought on Friday the 25th of October, 1415 between the
English and French during the Hundred Years War
It was a MAJOR English victory as they were hugely
outnumbered
Henry married one of the French King's daughters, they had a son and he was
made the heir to the throne of France.
This Battle is famous because of the use of the English Long Bow, which is probably what
helped them win the battle the most
After the English victory at Agincourt, several celebratory songs were
written. The most famous of these is The Agincourt Carol.
The ‘V’ sign of modern culture stems from Agincourt. The gesture was used by
English archers in defiance of the French threat that any caught longbowmen would
have their two bow-fingers cut off.
