    1. Today, it’s much more common to use let’s than let us to form the first person plural in the English imperative mode.
      1. Basic form:
        1. go sit eat study run leave
        2. Imperative (second person)
          1. Go! Sit! Eat! Study! Run! Leave!
          2. Imperative (first person)
            1. Let’s go! Let’s sit! Let’s eat! Let’s study! Let’s run! Let’s leave!
            2. EXAMPLES
              1. Are you hungry? - Yes, let’s eat! That’s my bus. - Really? Run! I’m not hungry, Mom. - I don’t care. Eat!
              2. Imperative Mode Formation: To form the imperative in English, the basic form of the verb is used. *For the second person singular and the second person plural, the imperative form is identical to the basic form of the verb. *For the first person of the plural, it is said (let us or let's’s) before the basic form of the verb.
