He also gives the reader advice to seize the moment when given. You can not let a day sour, instead be
stronger and learn how to improve it.
He reminisces about all the good things the pond has done to him. It helped him bring out many of his
transcendentalist beliefs.
Thoreau had decided to leave Walden pond to have a change in scenery. SOmething fresh for him
He ends the book by saying , “The sun is but a morning star,”(Thoreau 367). The sun is what wakes us up in the
morning. With all its simplicity it is what starts our day. He ended it with such a line because he wanted to
express how the sun may start our day but we end it, just like he ended his book
