3. Staff have less specific roles and perform a wide variety of tasks

5. Management style is democratic
Large organisation
1. Hierarchy has many layers and have a tall structure
2. Staff have very specific roles
3. Staff work to clearly defined procedures
4. Formal style of management
5. Management style is autocratic
Medium organisation
1. Hierarchy has fewer layers than large organisations (ie. it is flatter) but more than small organisations
2. Most staff will perform less specialised roles
3. Staff are allowed to use initiative more
4. Less formal management style
