Prescribed Title: "In gaining knowledge, each area of knowledge uses a network of ways of knowing." Discuss this statement with reference to two areas of knowledge.
  1. KQ: To what extent are ways of knowing ranked, based on their relevance, depending upon a certain area of knowledge being taken in to account?
    1. Subdisidary KQ: Can a hierarchy exist, with regards to a network of ways of knowledge?
      1. Subsidiary KQ: How do different AOK display different hierarchies with regards to the network of ways of knowing they encompass?
      2. Thesis: The hierarchy that exists with regards to a network of ways of knowing, can affect or contribute to the process of acquiring knowledge, shaping an individuals perspectives and points of view.
        1. Argument 1: The Arts are an AOK that has a hierarchy ranging from the WOK of language, sense perception, emotion, imagination, and intuition. The hierarchy of WOK used in this AOK are based upon the individual's points of view and thoughts towards the work being analysed.
          1. Argument 2: Mathematics does not allow for a big area of interpretation with comparison to the Arts. This AOK is based solely on specific concepts of previous knowledge obtained by the individual, thus the network of WOK applied to Mathematics has to do with much more concrete aspects.
          2. AOK: Mathematics
            1. WOK: Reason, Memory
              1. Mathematics is an AOK that allows very little interpretation with comparison to other AOK, thus the hierarchy of the network of WOK is very different than in other AOK.
              2. This AOK, in comparison to the Arts, is much less creative and open to interpretation, thus it gives a good source for comparison with the other AOK chosen.
              3. AOK: The Arts
                1. The arts are a much more creative AOK that allows a lot of interpretation based on very personal ideas and perspectives, through which an individual obtains knowledge by using a network of ways of knowing.
                  1. WOK: Language, sense perception, emotion, imagination, intuition.
                    1. The interpretation of this AOK is based on very personal and creative aspects, rather than concrete concepts or idea, thus these WOK are very relevant to the AOK.
                  2. Reasons that I'm interested in the title
                    1. It is the question I understand the most.
                      1. It gives a broad range of arguments to discuss.
                        1. It doesn't have many limitations with regards to the possible topics for discussion.
                        2. Counter-arguments
                          1. Also, in some cases there could also be a combination of the Arts and Mathematics, such as in the case of architecture, and even though the two are very different, they combine certain WOK to obtain knowledge about this area of study. Thus in this case, the network of WOK is very different compared to the two AOK individually.
                            1. In the case of Indigenous knowledge systems (AOK), it could be debated that their isn't a very noticeable hierarchy of WOK because this AOK uses a mostly equal combination of language and faith.
