  1. RAM stands for Random Access Memory
    1. A RAM is a type of computer memory that can be accessed randomly; that is' any byte of memory can accessed without touching the preceding bytes.
      1. ROM stands for Read Only Memory
        1. Once data has been written onto a ROM chip, it cannot be removed and can only be read.
          1. Volatile memory is computer storage that only maintains its data while the device is powered. Most RAM (random access memory) used for primary storage in personal computers is volatile memory.
            1. A type of physical memory used in most personal computers. The term dynamic indicates that the memory must be constantly refreshed (reenergized) or it will lose its contents. RAM (random-access memory) is sometimes referred to as DRAM (pronounced dee-ram) to distinguish it from static RAM (SRAM)
