        1. Influence of Enlightement

          Annotations:

          • French intellectuals and bourgeoisie supported enlightened ideas and tried to put them into practice
          1. Political crisis

            Annotations:

            • -Clergy and nobility has 300 representatives and each group had one vote -Middle class and peasantry had 600 representatives and only one vote
            • King Louis XVI opposed meetings of the Estates General. Estates of the realm couldn´t present their demands.

                  • The Third Estate proposed a new voting system in which each representative had an individual vote. The king reclaimed and Third Estate proclaimed themselves as representatives of the nation. Formed a National Assembly and demanded a constitution
